Gmail can add emails as attachments to cut down on forwarding

Google has introduced a solution for cases where you need to forward multiple separate emails to the same people. With a new Gmail feature, you can send emails as attachments without having to download or copy them first. For example, you might need to send a group member multiple emails from your inbox to start a project. All you have to do is select them and then drag them all at once into an open design window and drop them there.

GoogleGoogle has introduced a solution for cases where you need to forward multiple separate emails to the same people. With a new Gmail feature, you can send emails as attachments without having to download or copy them first.

For example, you might need to send a group member multiple emails from your inbox to start a project. All you have to do is select them and then drag them all at once into an open design window and drop them there.

You can also select the emails you want to forward, click the overflow menu, and then select “Forward as attachment” if you would prefer to start before you enter your message.

It is not necessary to create a brand new thread if you also respond to an e-mail. Just open the design window when you answer someone, and drag-and-drop the emails as if you were creating a new draft.

According to Google, the feature will be introduced gradually, so it may take some time to reach it. However, you know that you can attach e-mails to your e-mails if the option “Forward as attachment” appears in your overflow menu.

How to send emails as attachments in Gmail:

As soon as the function is available, the option “Forward as attachment” appears in the overflow menu. Click to send an e-mail attachment and attach all the e-mails you want to attach to the primary e-mail. You can also drop it under Drag & Drop once in an open design window.

  • Now go to the “To” field and add the e-mail IDs of the recipients.
  • Compose your e-mail with a message and subject.
  • Click “Send”.

How to reply with an attached e-mail on Gmail:

  • Open an email and click “Reply.”
  • Then click on the pop-out icon shown in the upper right corner.
  • Select the email you want to attach to your answer. Drag the e-mail into your message.
  • Click “Send”.
