Twitter is Working on a Subscription Platform?

Twitter is apparently working on a new subscription platform. This emerges from a new job advertisement that revealed some details about the type of subscription.

Twitter has given the project the code name Gryphon“. The company is building a subscription service that can be reused by other teams and calls it “first” for Twitter.

“Gryphon is a team of web engineers who work closely with the Payments team and the Twitter.com team. We are looking for a full-stack technician to lead the work of the payment and subscription customer. He appreciates the cooperation as much as we do and can act as a bridge for the engineering team, ”reads the job listing.

Immediately after this job ad attracted media attention, the company edited the job ad to remove all mentions from its internal team, subscription, and Gryphon.

The changed description is – “Twitter is looking for an Android engineer to work with a “bevy of backend engineering teams to build components that allow for experimentation to deliver the best experience possible to all of our users.

However, Twitter finally restored the details. The updated list mentions Gryphon and the subscription service as they did originally. It will be interesting to see what Twitter has planned behind the scenes.

It is possible that the company is working to implement this to monetize its user base for access to premium content. Unfortunately, it remains unclear how this will work. So we have to wait for Twitter to publish its so-called subscription platform.
