Microsoft Rolls Out Web Content Filtering Through Defender ATP

Administrators can use the filter to block certain categories of websites. Here is all you need to know.

Microsoft has introduced web content filtering as part of Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP).

The feature will be available to all enterprise users for free.

This essentially means that corporate users can use the feature without the need for an additional partner license.

According to Microsoft, companies can use web content filtering to track and regulate access to websites as they please.

The filter helps companies block websites that are not necessarily malicious, but that are consuming bandwidth or causing compliance-related issues.

Administrators can use the filter to block certain categories of websites.

For non-blocked categories, Microsoft offers the option of measuring usage and giving the device a corresponding guideline. It can also help organizations narrow down filters to certain elements on a webpage that may overwhelm bandwidth.
