Here Is What Indians Searched For The Most On Google In August

Google shared some interesting insights into what Indians were searching for in August. This includes searches for Independence Day, Pranab Mukherjee, and Covid-19, among many.

According to the data revealed by Google, “Pakistan vs England” was the top trend in India in August, up over 5,000%.

In the 2nd position, was the search for Pranab Mukherjee, which showed an increase of over 4,000%.

The tech giant also noted that the Pakistani cricket team was one of the top trending topics during the month, with a gain of over 3,400% and coming second after Indian Independence Day.

Regarding Independence Day interest, Google said that Independence Day search interest rose to a new record high this year. The general search interest rose to over 3,750%. It was the biggest hot topic of the month. The previous record was August 2018.

Apart from that, search interest for “Lebanon” rose by over 2,100% per month, while “COVID-19 prevention” rose by over 1,600%.

With regard to Covid-19, search interest for “Amit Shah Coronavirus” increased by over 4,100%, while search interest for “vaccine against corona at the latest” increased by over 150%.

Interestingly, “vaccine” remained the most searched topic alongside the coronavirus in India in August.

Also, look for “Sputnik” and “Sputnik vaccine,” which are up over 3,300% and over 2,750% respectively over the month. They were the top searches related to vaccines.
