Google Search Temporarily Removes Twitter Cards After Twitter Bitcoin Scam

Google has now decided to temporarily remove the Twitter Cards shown at the top of the search results.

The recent widespread Bitcoin scam, which has captured a number of high profile profiles on Twitter, appears to have had a major impact on Twitter’s confidence rating.

Yes, the Twitter cards that appeared at the top of the search results and led you to the latest stories, updates, and more have now disappeared.

This was first discovered by SEO consultant Brodie Clark on Twitter earlier this week. The data from SEMRush and FiveBlocks confirm the removal of the Twitter blocks.

If you search for “Kanye” on Google beforehand, the latest news will be displayed, followed by the singer’s latest tweets in a carousel.

As you can see below, you can still see messages above, but the visibility of Kanye’s Twitter account has been reduced. It appears at the bottom of the search results and the carousel is missing.

The Twitter carousel has been removed for everyone. i.e., the entire experience was initially discarded.

This isn’t just limited to accounts that have been compromised in Bitcoin fraud.

Hackers had access to nearly 130 prominent accounts earlier this week, including those of Bill Gates, Joe Biden, Elon Musk, and others on Twitter.

A Google spokesman confirmed the removal of the Twitter cards and said, We can confirm that we temporarily removed the Twitter carousel from the search due to Twitter’s security issues. Before we restore the function, we will do a careful review. “The Twitter maps in Google Search were a handy feature for spending and discovering information.
