Facebook To Introduce Cross-Platform Messaging Between WhatsApp And Messenger

Facebook owns several methods of social media communication apps. They have Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram, all of which allow users to message each other.

However, accordion to a report from WABetaInfo, it seems that Facebook could be considering cross-platform messaging where users on Messenger could potentially communicate with users on WhatsApp.

According to the discovery of WABetaInfo, they write: “According to the references listed in this picture, Facebook can understand whether a WhatsApp contact is blocked, push notifications sound and the details of a chat (including certain information such as the phone number of the contact) Message counter when the chat is archived ..), but not its content, members of a specific group and profile pictures of the contact. “

Although cross-platform messaging isn’t specifically mentioned, their discovery seems to suggest that Facebook may be laying the groundwork for it. If this is correct and Facebook plans to do what we think it plans to do, it could actually be a pretty good idea.

This could reduce the number of messaging apps we may need and make it more efficient. However, there are some privacy concerns as well, since WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption, but Messenger doesn’t.

In any case, it might be too early to say, but what do you think in the meantime? Would you be interested in such a function? Let us know in the comment box.
