Apple iPhone 12 Lineup Might Launch In October

Both Apple and Qualcomm have recently indicated that the iPhone 12 series will be delayed for a few weeks. In general, new iPhone models are launched in September.

However, this year Tipster and YouTuber Jon Prosser announced that the 2020 iPhones will hit the market in October.

The leaker predicts that Apple will be hosting its iPhone event the week of October 12th, with preorders for the iPhone 12 models kicking off the same week. Apple will begin shipping the devices the following week.

According to his tweet, Apple will host a launch event the week of October 12th to showcase the iPhone 12 series. According to him, the iPhone 12 model will be available for pre-order in the same week as the launch. Shipping is expected to begin next week, October 19th. For the Pro models, the tipster suggests that the Pro models cannot be pre-ordered until November.

However, Prosser makes it clear that due to the “staggered release of the iPhone 12 and the uncertainty of the final dates for Pro models, there is a chance the dates could slip / change”.

In addition, the tipster points out that Apple is expected to launch Apple Watch and iPad in the week of September 7th. He also announces that Apple will not organize a launch event for these two products and will bring them out via press release.

iPhone 12 series expected specifications

According to reports, the new iPhone 12 comes with a 20W power adapter. Prosser also posted a few pictures of the charger to bring home his point. The iPhone 12 will be available in four models, a new 5.4-inch screen, two 6.1-inch models, and a high-end 6.7-inch Max.

However, it’s not clear whether the 20W adapter will be exclusive to the iPhone 12 Pro, or whether the company will offer fast chargers for the entire iPhone 12 range this year.

The iPhone 12 will likely have a brand new Super Retina XDR display and will run on the Apple A14 Bionic chip. It comes with 120 Hz ProMotion technology and 10-bit color depth.

The standard 5.4-inch iPhone can package a full-size display into a smaller shape, while Pro models are expected to have either a 6.1-inch screen or a 6.7-inch screen.

The iPhone 12 Pro has a quad-camera setup on the back. The device will be equipped with 5G support.
